2 hikers missing near St. Mary's Glacier
By Kyle Clark

Alpine Search and Rescue says the two men were supposed to return Saturday afternoon or evening, but never showed up. About 30 Alpine Rescue Team members, some on snowmobiles, searched for the men. A helicopter overhead also assisted in the search.

However, the searchers were not needed as the two men were able to hike to Nederland. They arrived there around 1:30 p.m. and called family members.

"They got turned around yesterday at some point, ended up spending the night out last night. They were able to get down low enough to get out of the weather, built a fire and found a guy who helped them out this morning," said Steve Wilson with the Alpine Rescue Team.

One of the men has been identified as Ed Conrad of Littleton. He declined to speak to 9NEWS about his experience. The other hiker's name was not immediately released.
