FRIDAY, JUNE 6
6 p.m. — Find out interesting facts about the history of our park when you meet Fred at the old Bowen homestead overlooking the Four Coves Campground.

SATURDAY, JUNE 7
9 a.m. — The National Hiking Society is sponsoring National Trail Days. Hikers and bikers of all ages are welcome on any Beech Fork State Park trail. Register at park headquarters. The objectives include: recruitment of trail project volunteers; to educate the public about Beech Fork hiking trails; to educate the public about the benefits of hiking/biking and about the Naturalist Program Interpretive Hiking. Don’t forget adequate foot gear, sun screen and a water bottle.

1:30 p.m. — Meet Fred outside Campers Corner for a brief walk along the Nature Trail. We will examine aquatic life along Long Branch. You may get your feet wet, so be prepared. Remember the sunscreen.

2 p.m. — Follow Fred on the fringe of Lost Trail and learn about a few of the native, medicinal plants. Wear comfortable shoes and meet at the Moxley Creek bathhouse.

6 p.m. — Amble up the Overlook trail with the park naturalist and meet some pest plants. This trail is fairly steep at the trailhead, but the view from the overlook is well worth the walk. Wear comfortable shoes.

SUNDAY, JUNE 8
10 a.m. — Folks are invited to attend local church service at nearby Davis Bowen Church. The church is two miles up the road on the left as you head toward West Virginia 10. If you pass the Hughes Branch turn-off, you’ve gone too far. Sunday School begins at 10 and church begins at 11 a.m.
