These 110 degree days may not prevent you from taking a hike, but Dwight D'Evelyn with the Yavapai County Sheriff's Office says you really shouldn't bring your dog.
"We would prefer folks that are doing any serious hiking just not take the animal in the first place."
A few days ago a dog hiking with his owner on a trail near Sedona nearly died from the heat.
D'Evelyn says if you must bring your furry friend, bring lots of water for him and try to hike somewhere shady so he doesn't burn his pads.
