The Civil Aviation Department has received applications from four airlines for increasing their fuel surcharges.
Cathay Pacific Airways, Nepal Airlines, Saudi Arabian Airlines are among the four to have submitted applications. The fourth airline has refused to be named.
Cathay Pacific was among the 11 airlines in May to be allowed to raise fuel charges by 37 percent because of rocketing oil prices.
Nepal Airlines and Saudi Arabian Airlines did not hike their charges in May.
Oil prices surged past US$147 (HK$1,146.6) a barrel this month but more recently they have been hovering around US$130 a barrel.
