Girl injured while hiking Fulford Cave
By Vail Daily News

A teenaged girl was injured Monday afternoon while hiking in Fulford Cave south of Eagle, police said.

The 13-year-old girl was climbing under the supervision of instructors from Colorado Climbing School near the main entrance of Fulford Cave when she apparently fell and injured her knees, according to Deputy Gianni Robinson of the Eagle County Sheriff’s Office.

Robinson said he believes the girl to be a resident of New York state.

Vail Mountain Rescue, along with the Greater Eagle Fire Protection District and Western Eagle Ambulance District collaborated in the girl’s rescue, Robinson said.
Robinson said no further information was immediately available.

“We probably won’t get anything tonight because she’s a minor and we don’t have any parental contacts for her,” he said.
