COLUMBIA- Firefighters rescued a pair of hikers at Capen Park on Sunday afternoon.
Charlie Richey and Matthew Williams required assistance from Columbia firefighters following a hiking mishap. Williams slipped and slid down a hill, stranding Richey on a bluff. Richey had to wait for firefighters to help her down the hill. The firefighters used ropes located at the top of the bluff to secure a rescue harness to Richey as they lowered her to the ground. Neither of the hikers were seriously injured.
