The provincial government is increasing most of its user fees and charges by 1.9 per cent next month.
Nova Scotia Finance Minister Michael Baker said Thursday the fees will go up on April 1 to offset higher costs for providing services.
The inflation rate for the past year was 1.9 per cent.
"Like other provinces, user fees help us offset the ever-increasing cost of running programs and services in communities across Nova Scotia," Baker said.
He predicted the increases will bring in another $3 million to provincial coffers.
The increased fees will mean that company licences, probate fees, summary offence tickets and hunting licences will cost more.
For example, a $100 fee will cost $101.90 beginning April 1, a $58.30 fine rises to $59.41 and a $114.30 licence will rise to $116.47.
There are about 1,400 individual fees across government.
Fees charged by government service organizations and agencies, such as school boards and health boards, are not affected.
