Stark Parks begins "Healthy Hikes" series
By Canton Repository

Stark County Park District will start its fifth annual series of Healthy Hikes on Saturday.

Participants have until Nov. 30 to walk eight of 12 designated trails to earn a free hiking stick. If they already have a hiking stick, the reward is a frog charm, in honor of the park district's hiking frog mascot FeLeap.

The Healthy Hikes program form is available online at Stark Parks' newly designed website, StarkParks.com; at park kiosks along the Ohio & Erie Canalway and other parks, and at a number of local businesses that serve as "signature sites" for the program. Signature sites are near designated trails. After walking the trail, the Healthy Hiker goes to the business to have the program form initialed and dated.
